The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
